Dr. Dan Borchers  grew up in Holstein, IA on his family's farm where they raised hogs, cattle, chickens and his favorite, exotic birds! Dan graduated from Galva-Holstein High School in 2007 and headed to Wartburg College to pursue a degree in biology. Dan was busy throughout his time on campus as he also played on the football team and sang in the Wartburg Choir. Ironically during his freshman year biology class, he met his wife Amanda. Fast forward, Dan and Amanda are now married and have six sons: Kaden, Garrison, Rowan, Dechlyn, Quentin and Jarun. Dan and his family reside on an acreage near Rock Valley, IA. Dr. Borchers' love for animals extends outside of his veterinary work as seen by his extensive variety at the acreage, including peacocks, chickens, guineas, ducks, a donkey, a bull, cows and calves, a dog, cats, ferrets and fish!​

 

Dr. Borchers earned his DVM from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he specialized in large animal and production animal medicine. He has also completed extra training in cattle lameness and hoof trimming. Dr. Borchers has experience in writing vaccine protocols, feedlot health, cow/calf health, small animal surgeries, bovine reproduction (semen checking and pregnancy checking) and hog barn health.
